Today really have a hard working days. I had admitted 2 patients in the afternoon. Then, I helped our partner team to do the evening ward round because all of the team members (from SMO to MO) were having their half day off. Even worst is that I need to round with the Consultant, whom know very little about the patient in their team (just same as me!)
Unfortunately, there was one little boy in their team whom were found to have measles. So, there was lots of work to do....... tracing the contact, quarantined the contact, see the parents for the diagnosis and explained our management plan, inform the infection control unit and the department of health, see the parents of the contact that required post exposure vaccination/IVIG prophylaxis, explained to those parents about the side effect of the therapy and why the incident happened, phone consults to microbiologists ..... of course, still continued to admitting patient at the same time.
There is also 1 consultation to the psychiatric ward today, when I arrived there tonight at 10pm, almost all the patient had gone to sleep...... I want to sleep too! :(
